Need help reading team-build format
Hey all,
I'm not sure if I'm in the minority in this respect, but I'm having a lot of trouble reading the current team-build format that's popular here. The image alone is a nice guideline, but I have no idea what the builds do until I hunt through the official wiki to learn what pictures belong to what skills.
Is there an easier way to read this format or will I just need to memorize the skills and how they work together?

Well...memorizing skills also help doing builds faster...if u play pvp i strongly recommend you to learn every icon, cos u don't have the time to read skills.
And respect to ur question: if u refer to Pawned teambuilds images there's no way to read the format cos they are images posted here in Guru. You can download the program and use it, or simply spend some time on Wiki or to the Priest of Balthazar in Great Temple and learn the skills..

If you get used to some of the skills, it would become easier to know what is what etc.

The main problem is that this forum doesn't support gwbbcode any more (or gwbbcode doesn't get updated or isn't compatible with the forum code any more; whatever, the point is that there's no gwbbcode), which did what builds on gwpvx.com do: post builds easily with attributes and mouse over skills to see skill info.
Unfortunately, the easiest way to do this now is with that Pawned program you see all these screenshots from. What people could do is post the Pawned code with their builds so you can load them in your Pawned to see the team build with the same mouse over properties as pvx/gwbbcode.
People don't bother, because most people these days recognise (most) skill icons. It just takes a little time but you'll get used to it soon enough.

The easiest way for everyone to do this is pvxdecode and post links but as yet nobody has actually realised that.
You are correct though, gwshack was shut down and amongst coding issues it wasn't viable to keep on the forum. A solution is being sought, but no timeframe at this point.

Im glad im not the only one who thinks why not use the pvxdecode.
The main problem with gwbbcode was the amount of different forum programs and how often the creators updated. This caused gwbbcode on some forums to cause major probs and more problems when they decided to change code within the forum.
Sadly gwshack closed and even tho a person was meant to be keeping the original code on google and updating skills - which hasnt happened at all - a gd forum program has sort of been lost. And manually updating skills isnt a nice job - i got as far as the march updates on derv and had to stop due to hand injury .

I also agree, Ive been playing for 4 years but I still only recognize about 25% of the skills.
If its made in PawNed I just hope its something really good and that someone will put it on gwpvx.com

Is there any reason then that template codes themselves aren't posted? PVX has been invaluable to me to learn, but I'd like to try out other people's ideas too that haven't made it onto that site to start experimenting. There's a lot more out today than when it was just Prophecies.
Thanks for your explanations guys.

There's no specific reason not to post template codes, except probably for convenience.
I agree that PvXDecode could be used, but it doesn't allow for rune usage, just the bare attributes. Other than that it's easy.
